In 28th, March, the 5103 longwall of one big coal industry group at Shanxi Province finally cut out safely. 5103 fully mechnized longwall is situated in No.1 panel of 52 coal layer with 250m long. The two gateways were arranged along the coal layer inclination and longwall was arraged along the run of the coal layer. The cut was 5242.5m away from the main removal gateway. The geological reserve was 8,700,000tons and the extractable reserve was 8,202,300 tons. The No. 3 fully mechnised team started to do cable bolting, grid transporting from the 1 a.m. 23rd, March when the advancement was 15m away from the main gateway. Up to 7a.m., the first steel cable was connected solidly with the safety lock and the grid hanging was finished. The roof cutting of the removal gateway was 450mm on average and the maximum roof breaking distance was 750mm. The rapid change of the coal layer resulted in the too small height between the the nose at the removal gateway and No.20 shield. In order to make the shear pass without teaing the mining grid. The team adopted the method of breaking roof for recovery to guarantee the mining height. The roof of 52 coal layer was cracked and contained lots of rocks, the team had a meeting in time to analyse the date of the removal gateway and fixed the roof control plan during final cut-out to ensure the roof safety in the recovery period.
